1. Who We Are
This website, gibornapparel.com, is operated by Dongguan Xinjibang Apparel Co., Ltd. (“Giborn Apparel”, “we”, “us”), a knitwear manufacturer located at No.2 Fuma 1st Road, Chigang, Humen Town, Dongguan, Guangdong, China. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
For any question about this policy or about how your data is handled, contact us at jay@gibornapparel.com.
2. What Data We Collect
- Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry form or email us, we receive your name, email address, company name, country and the content of your message, together with any files you choose to attach.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider records standard server logs including IP address, browser type, referring page and time of access.
- Cookies and analytics. We use cookies to keep the site working correctly and, where you consent, to measure how the site is used.
We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we do not collect special categories of personal data.
3. Why We Use It
- To answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation and manage a business relationship with you.
- To operate, secure and improve this website.
- To comply with legal, accounting and export documentation obligations.
4. Fraud Prevention and Inquiry Screening
When you submit an inquiry form, we record technical information alongside your message so that we can distinguish genuine business inquiries from automated spam and fraudulent approaches. This includes your IP address, the approximate country and city and network operator associated with that IP address, your browser language, a summary of your browser and device, the page you submitted from and the site that referred you, and how long the form took to complete.
To determine the approximate location of an IP address we send that address to ip-api.com, a third-party geolocation service. Only the IP address is sent; your name, email address and message are never shared with them. The result is cached on our server for up to 12 hours and is not used for advertising or profiling.
This information is included in the internal notification email sent to our own staff and is not disclosed to anyone else. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in preventing fraud and abuse of our contact channels. You may object to this processing at any time using the contact details below; note that we may then be unable to accept inquiries submitted through the website form.
5. Legal Basis
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps for handling enquiries and orders; legitimate interests for site security and basic analytics; consent for non-essential cookies; and legal obligation where retention is required by law.
6. How Long We Keep It
Enquiry correspondence is retained for up to 3 years from our last contact with you, so that we can pick up a project you return to. Records connected to an actual order are retained for the period required by applicable accounting and customs law. Server logs are retained for a short operational period. You can ask us to delete your data earlier at any time.
7. Third-Party Services
- ip-api.com — IP geolocation, used solely to screen inquiries for fraud as described in section 4.
- Google Analytics — used, where you consent, to understand aggregate site usage. Google may process this data outside your country.
- Google Maps — our contact page embeds a map. Loading it involves a request to Google’s servers.
- WhatsApp — our site links to WhatsApp. If you follow that link, your interaction is governed by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy, not ours.
- Hosting — the site is hosted by our web hosting provider, which processes data on our instructions.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
8. International Transfers
We are based in China. If you contact us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, your data will be transferred to and processed in China. We take reasonable steps to protect it to the standard described in this policy.
9. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data rectified, to request erasure, to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email jay@gibornapparel.com. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you believe your rights have been infringed, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10. Cookies
Essential cookies are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. Analytics cookies are set only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw through the cookie banner at any time.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
